Who We Are

Sport at the Heart, or ‘SatH’ as we are known, is a social inclusion charity using sports, physical activity, creative arts, play and wellbeing initiatives to improve the lives of people in our community. We provide year-round opportunities to connect, grow and thrive focusing on children, young people and families who need our support the most.

Our services are open access but we concentrate our delivery in neighbourhoods that face many challenges, are chronically underserved, or where there are systemic inequalities preventing children and young people from having opportunities that will help them be the best they can be.

We take an asset-based approach to our work and despite our challenges, there is huge potential in our community. We create positive opportunities, which inspire children, young people and their families and help them to find their skills and passions in life.

MEET Our TEAM

Amari

Community Sports Coach

Hi, my name is Amari, I’m the youngest of the SatH team and it shows. I tend to be the loud energetic one, definitely the baby of the group but we all show our inner child sometimes and that’s alright. I started my SatH journey as a volunteer 7 years ago and I’ve grown as a person and as an individual.

Sports has always been a passion of mine but with the support from my colleagues I started to pursue my dream of being a sports coach with a lot of hard work and time I started to embrace this dream. I didn’t just gain the ability to be a sports coach, I gained a family at SatH too.
